FEATURES

Red Verona Marble, as its name suggests, has a red appearance. Characteristic of this marble is the presence of spots or nodules due to the presence of iron oxide. In these areas the colour varies from pinkish to brick red. Rosso Verona is a red marble. It has a background tone tending towards brick red/brown with alternating colours from pinkish to red and many shades due to the various concentrations of hematite or iron oxide. It is a nodular fossiliferous limestone, due to the presence of fossil ammonites, with a clay component and rounded intrusions scattered across the surface. The overall colour is varied and may have yellowish and brownish intrusions. The red colouring fades especially in the more superficial areas, tending to pink, beige and ivory; even in these cases the stone retains its nodular character.

COLOUR

Marble Red of Verona has a brick-red colour with alternating brown and brick red. On the surface we can find shades of pink, beige and ivory.

APPLICATIONS

Marble Red of Verona has been used extensively in public works throughout northern Italy over time. Due to its clayey nature that causes it to lose its polish with the passage of time, it is therefore preferable to be used indoors. Floors, columns, fireplaces, cornices and more. Verona red lends itself very well to the application of the antique marble effect.
